Music Therapy for Chronic Pain and Illness

Music Therapy for Chronic Pain and Illness

Music therapy is a supportive therapeutic modality that’s used to support a range of chronic health conditions, including cancer, MS, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and more.

Music therapy supports you to manage your daily life, connect with hope and joy, and share your experiences with others. I have more than 8 years’ clinical experience working to support people with cancer, pain and life-limiting illness through my work at the Olivia Newton John Cancer Centre and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

There is a significant amount of research on the effective use of music therapy for chronic pain. A leading researcher in the field, Professor Joke Bradt, recently presented at the Australian Pain Society on her research that is now receiving worldwide recognition from the NIH.

Mind Body Music Therapy implements protocols influenced by Prof. Bradt’s findings, combining these with more than 5 years experience working in palliative care wards at the Olivia Newton John Cancer Centre and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
